excerpts from the journal of Ashmir...
Day 1....
Upon escorting a caravan to the grand city of Corvis, our band was attacked by a vile group of swamp gobbers. Being the sort of rough and tumble adventurers that we are, we engaged the gobbers with a full head of steam. After a long and fairly perilous fight, we triumphed against the vile creatures. The caravan was saved with little lost.
Once we made it to the grand city of Corvis, we were approached by Father Dumas. He had a job for us. We took it since a grand sense of ennui was creeping in. Apparently there has been a rash of grave robberies in this town. We were give a short list of names that were of the bodies that were stolen. That evening we interviewed a lot of people--frankly most of them were quite useless. After a long, long time of interviewing with NO conflicts, tiffs, or arguments, we learned that the graves that were robbed we jurors of a famous witch trial that happened in this town about thirty to forty years ago.
And one other thing we learned, our elf, Falik, is not liked in this town. We best keep him out of the bars. Annoying little cuss....
Day 2...
We reported our piddly little findings to Father Dumas. He then informed us that there is a tomb in that all of the witches were buried in outside of town--about a nine hour journey by horse. We decided that was our best course of action.
Well this tomb is large and fairly empty. We did a hell of a lot of walking and very little fighting. Let me tell you my weapon arm DID not get tired. We did fight a really bigh squid thingie (a real exciting moment was when Falik was caught by the bugger).
Someone peed on my chain shirt!!!!! I think it may be that elf--Falik.
We have also concluded that a young girl may be involved and we know of only one young girl in this town--Alexia!
Day 3....
Protocol be damned! I bashed the door down of the church (perhaps not the best move), and we (well the we is up for debate) confronted Father Dumas about his neice Alexia. For some reason he was not very receptive at all. I am quite disappointed with him. After our little conversation, Erac saw the young hellspawn shoot out the back door. I pursued yelling in a very threatening manner.
We found a whirlpool. Note to self--its just a whirlpool.
We were able to follow here to what appears to be her hideout. In one room we found a lot of stuff for rasing the dead and a note to her uncle--Father Dumas!!. We now know for sure it is her (I already knew that, but the others wanted more "proof.")
We fought a butt-load of thralls. Oh...I went blind too. Note to self: if it says don't touch--don't!
We returned to town and ran into that captain of the guard again. He has another task for us....
